We are looking for someone that’s entrepreneurial, believes in what we’re building, and not only wants to help us build our product, but our company. If you’re thinking of starting a company in the future, come get experience at an early stage startup by joining the founding team as the technical person/developer and working directly with our founder.
You would be joining a team with combined work experience at VCs like FJ Labs and Contrary Capital, technical experience at companies like Google, product and growth experience at companies like BeReal, and marketing experience at companies like Stigma. Point is - we’re entrepreneurs that have experienced the various facets of building a business and have chosen SpotDrop as the project to put all this experience to good use. We want to share this experience, network and project with you, so that when the time comes for you to be a founder, you will be better equipped given your journey with SpotDrop.
We’re looking for someone that has built iOS apps and is familiar with our tech stack. You would become an integral part of the team and we would therefore compensate you with equity in SpotDrop.
SpotDrop is an app for foodies that helps with the discovery and sharing of restaurants, cafes, and bars, based on the recommendation of friends.
In a world where foodies have an abundance of amazing food spots to enjoy and are constantly in search of new experiences, reaching out to friends for recommendations has been the preferred choice by far. Doing so, however, doesn’t come without its challenges - knowing who to reach out to in the first place, whether they’ll be available to respond in time, what to order once you’re there…it too often leads to foodies not making the most of the food scene around them.

As SpotDrop stands, we have been designing, prototyping, “playing” around with the app since July 2021. In that time, we’ve successfully built and tested an MVP, ran a pilot program with 500 users, secured a partnership with OpenTable (worlds largest reservation service network), and built relationships with influential foodies as well as food & drink spots in the Boston area. We have also been accepted to take part in a 12 week long accelerator-like program organized by the VC Launch which starts mid-November.
We’re currently looking to amp up our product development so we can build on the feedback of our pilot program and launch Version 1 of SpotDrop as soon as possible.
